Delhi’s Grand Cinematic Stage: IFFD 2026 Set to Dazzle the Capital

Get ready, Delhi! Our city is about to transform into a global celluloid paradise. From March 25 to 31, 2026, the inaugural International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) is taking over Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan. This isn’t just another film screening event; it’s a massive seven-day cultural explosion that brings the world’s best cinema right to our doorstep.

The festival kicks off with some serious star power. The opening film is the Oscar-nominated “Sirât”, a hypnotic journey through Morocco that won the Jury Prize at Cannes. To wrap things up, we have “Amoeba”, a gritty, relatable tale of teenage rebellion from Singapore. With over 130 films from 47 countries selected from a staggering 2,000+ submissions, there is something for every kind of movie buff.
What makes this truly special for us is the venue. Bharat Mandapam, our pride from the G20, will serve as the festival hub, alongside screens at PVR+INOX. Beyond the movies, you can attend masterclasses, red-carpet galas, and the Cineverse Expo. Festival Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Chairperson Vani Tripathi Tikoo are ensuring this puts Delhi on the map as a global cultural capital. (pp. 1-2) Whether you’re a die-hard cinephile or just looking for a world-class experience in the heart of the city, IFFD 2026 is the place to be this March.

Public Feedback: While industry participation was high, some audience members noted that certain high-profile screenings remained “invites only,” suggesting that future promotions could be more inclusive to create a larger “common public” buz.

IFFD (Delhi) – Smaller, nascent, but intense local and media‑industry presence; attendance is growing but still orders of magnitude below Goa and Kochi‑scale events.
