Delhi Budget 2026–27: IATO Backs ₹412 Cr Push, Calls for Trade-Aligned Branding

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has welcomed the Delhi Budget 2026–27, terming its ₹412 crore tourism outlay as a strong signal of government intent to position the capital as a global hub.

IATO President Mr. Ravi Gosain noted that enhanced funding will improve infrastructure and visitor experiences, creating confidence among international operators. He particularly endorsed the proposed Delhi Tourism Board, stating that a single-window approach will ease doing business and foster stronger public-private partnerships.

The association also hailed the new Film Policy and AVGC Policy as powerful drivers of film-induced tourism, capable of attracting younger, experience-driven travelers. Similarly, the promotion of the concert economy was described as a strategic move to boost off-season tourism and increase average length of stay.

On the ₹50 crore Branding Delhi initiative, Mr. Gosain offered a measured perspective. While acknowledging its potential to correct perception gaps globally, he stressed that strategic international marketing must be closely aligned with trade stakeholders to drive real results.

With cautious optimism, IATO has signaled that Delhi now has a credible roadmap—but execution and stakeholder collaboration will determine its success.
